Homebrew Martial Power Disciplines
Ignition Edge
From the beginning of the age of men and mer, the natural force that lit the darkness and brought heat to mortal hands was fire. The first flames allowed mortals to delve into the science and magic of the mundane and mystical worlds. Those who researched it's secrets could use it's power for their own ends.
When civilizations came to be, war was known to man and mer, and somewhere between magic and bodily science the techniques of Ignition Edge can be found. There inside life one can describe the spirit as flame, and to channel the spirit could be to fan the flame. The first practitioner of this art was probably a mage-knight or an alchemist of a sort, and used their knowledge to create fiery martial prowess. Inspired by spell or concoction, mixing the proper inner elements creates the force of an explosion and the strength of raging flames.
Ignition Edge is an offensive style, which balances itself between medium ranged and close range offensive techniques. Flames can only burn when they are close, but flames can be hurled either by magic or through physical mediums. To describe a practitioner in motion one must imagine a blade and a gun in unison, gun striking and checking cautious foes and blade delivering the finishing blow.
While guns did not exist when this style was made, nor may they not exist in a world- it could be safe to assume this style could inspire their invention. Should they exist, guns make an easy medium for a number it's techniques.
