Characters are not only defined by their attributes and their histories, but they each have separate sets of skills they use to get by in the world.
Skills are tied to attributes, and when a character lacks a skill they default to an 'untrained' attribute roll depending on the skill and the situation of it's use. Usually the difficulty of the task is increased because of this. However, a person without a proper skill cannot hope to accomplish advanced uses. Surgery requires the right skill, etc.
Crafts
Your ability to put things together and create things, whether practical or aesthetic.
Medicine
Your understanding of the humanoid anatomy and the basic skills necessary to keep people alive.
Investigation
Your ability to look into a mystery, to collect the clues which hide between the lines, and connect the dots.
Awareness
Your ability to sense the presence of others, based visual and auditory senses. It is also your ability to see past subtleties in the physical world.
Knowledge
Your measure of Knowledge in many different areas of study. Dice in this skill grants general knowledge learned through schooling, specialties can be bought at 1 Xp each, granting deeper insight into specific areas.
Linguistic Training
Each point confers a language known. This skill is tied to deciphering ancient languages.
Weaponry
Your ability to use melee weapons of various kind as well as throwing weapons. Also your understanding of such weapons.
Marksmanship
Your understanding of the use of ranged weapons such as Slings, Bows and crossbows. One point Xp may be spent for competency with firearms.
Unarmed
Your mastery over the use of your body as a weapon
Stealth
Your ability to conceal yourself and the sounds you make from possible observers.
Legerdemain
Your ability to accomplish Larceny based tasks like picking locks, disabling mechanisms and forging pre-existing documentation.
Athletics
Your skill in using your body to it's utmost ability to move with power. Climbing, Swimming, lifting etc.
Acrobatics
Your skill in using your body's agility to your benefit. Balancing, tumbling and other such tasks are the domain of this skill.
Animal Handling
Your know-how or innate ability to approach, soothe, train and befriend animals.
Survival
Your ability to survive in the wilderness, and not get lost in the wild.
Empathy
Your perceptive ability to read other's, whether body language or tone of voice.
Bluff
Lying, keeping secrets, and fooling others.
Intimidate
Putting fear into others to get your way, breaking morale and putting up a facade of rage.
Streetwise
Your knowledge of criminal society within the confines of centers of population. General common know-how.
Diplomacy
Your ability to be friendly, bargain, make others like you and perhaps have thems see your way.

- (Anthropology) Humanoid culture, customs, etc.
- (Beastlore) Beasts, monsterous or normal.
- (Dungeon Lore) Below the earth, ruins, caves.
- (Engineering) Mechanical understanding, architecture.
- (Essentium) Knowledge of the Essentia in it's natural and invoked states. Essencecraft; such as Arcane Artes; and forces which fal under this purview.
- (Geography) Knowledge of the lands and their position around you.
- (Ghostlore) Knowledge of the Undead, Spirits, Specters and Phantoms; as well as the Underworld and the Void.
- (History) The history of the various Kingdoms, countries and the world.
