To be continued
The following gadgets are various weapon attachments that can be built, connected, and/or installed into a number of different weapon systems. Each gadget will explain the type of weapon it can be used for and the various settings/other specifics it has.
Each gadget also has a minimum number of ranks in certain skills necessary before crafting such items, as well as a general DC for doing such.
Do note that one can try to create/repair a specific gadget even if they don't have the necessary ranks to doing so. For every three ranks below the necessary rank the crafter is missing, a -2 penalty to the roll is imposed.
If the would be crafter has no ranks in the necessary skill, and doesn't have someone with said ranks helping them, they take an additional penalty of ten. This system allows for a more logical approach to crafting with technology, as the more sophisticated it gets, the more one must know about it to be able to properly handle it.
So to make a gadget;
Rank = # Listed
(#/3) x 2 = penalty, rounding down.
(e.i. Rank 15, with only 7 ranks: 8 / 3=2, x2 = -4. Rounding down)
No ranks:
(15/3=5 x2 = 10, +10 = 20. Total -20 penalty. )

Ranged Weapon Gadget list:
Name: Energy Output Controller; V1 Type: Gadget Size: Counts as part of the weapon Description: Usually installed or integrated into the workings of an energy based weapon, it tends to be in the form of a dial or switch, or something similar. Effect: As a swift action the user can dial up or dial down the power of their weapon, conserving energy for long periods of use or increasing power for more powerful damage output. This model allows the user to 'dial up' an extra 2 points of damage, or 'dial down' a single die of damage. More advanced versions of this technology can be integrated into the weapon, allowing 'two clicks' or more to raise or lower the power output. Dialing 'Up' one click with this gadget uses two extra charges of ammunition with each shot, while dialing 'down' allows for the calculation of .5 shots. Weight: -- Cost: 1250 gp Rank: Computers 4 (Or Knowledge (Technology) 7), Craft (Mechanics) 4 DC: 15 |
Name: Energy Output Controller; V2 Type: Gadget Size: Counts as part of the weapon Description: Usually installed or integrated into the workings of an energy based weapon, it tends to be in the form of a dial or switch, or something similar. Effect: As a swift action the user can dial up or dial down the power of their weapon, conserving energy for long periods of use or increasing power for more powerful damage output. This model allows the user to 'dial up' an extra 4 points of damage (Doesn't stack with V1), or 'dial down' up to two die of damage. More advanced versions of this technology can be integrated into the weapon, allowing 'three clicks' or more to raise or lower the power output. Dialing 'Up' two clicks with this gadget uses five extra charges of ammunition with each shot, while dialing 'down' allows for the calculation of .25 shots. Should the dialed damage die hit the point of 'no dice', you instead jump down a die level in damage. For example, a laser pistol that deals 2d10 would dial one click down to 1d10, then another down to 1d8. The same Laser Pistol could Dial-up to 3d10 with V1, then 4d10 with V2 Weight: -- Cost: 2500 gp Rank: Computers 7 (Or Knowledge (Technology) 9), Craft (Mechanics) 7 DC: 15 |
Name: Weapon Changer Type: Gadget Size: Two weapons combined. Description: This device allows two weapons to exist in one form. This usually means that a part of one weapon acts as part of another. Effect: As a swift action the welder may activate the gadget to switch from one weapon form to another. The two weapons must be similar in their composition, so an energy weapon must be combined with another energy weapon. A firearm must be coupled with another physical based weapon. A few examples might be; Beam Saber/Laser Pistol Shortsword/Pistol Sonic Grapple Gun/Saw'd Off Shotgun Weight: Depends on weapons. Cost: Cost of both weapons, plus 25% more Rank: Knowledge (Technology) 7, Craft (Mechanics) 7 DC: 17 |
